Carboxytherapy is a non-surgical method of treating diseases of the spine and joints.

In the trade union sanatorium “Khmilnyk” there was an opportunity to even more effectively help people suffering from pain in the back and joints, reacting to a change in weather, thanks to a modern, safe, internationally recognized technique called carboxytherapy.

Treatment with subcutaneous injections of carbon dioxide – carboxytherapy – is widely used in the largest clinics in Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and in leading European resorts.

How useful are carbon dioxide injections?

Introduced carbon dioxide instantly causes the expansion of blood vessels and sharply increases local blood circulation and the oxygen concentration in tissues more than 3 times. As a result, muscle spasm and tension are reduced, congestion phenomena, swelling are eliminated, pain sensations and inflammatory processes are removed. It also increases the body’s resistance to adverse environmental factors due to the sufficiently pronounced antioxidant effect of carbon dioxide.

Carboxytherapy can be safely called a natural and ecological method of treatment, because carbon dioxide is a natural participant in biochemical processes in the body.

Therapeutic effect:

  • elimination of pain syndromes caused by spine pathology, degenerative joint diseases (with osteochondrosis, arthritis, arthrosis);
  • treatment of leg vascular diseases; reduction of lymphatic and venous edema; elimination of telangiectasias (vascular stars) and small varicose veins,
  • improvement of skin condition (primarily, with psoriasis);
  • reduction of headaches, migraines;
  • stimulation of hair growth in baldness;
  • improvement of quality and regulation of sleep duration.

The safety of carboxytherapy allows its use as an alternative method of treatment in patients who cannot use drug therapy, for example: gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, allergic manifestations, etc.

In cosmetology carboxytherapy is used for rejuvenation of the epidermis, treatment of stretch marks (stretch marks), cellulite and local obesity (mechanical destruction of fat deposits under pressure, as well as removal of slags, elimination of lymph stagnation and enhancement of lipolysis – splitting of fat cells); reduction of circles under the eyes (replaces blepharoplasty), with general sagging, lethargy of the skin, decrease in its tone and turgor.

How is carboxytherapy performed?

The session of carboxytherapy takes 5-10 minutes. Sterile medical carbon dioxide is injected under the skin with a thin needle, the dose and place of injection is calculated by the physiotherapist. Special equipment allows you to control the pressure, volume, depth of introduction and gas concentration.

After stopping the procedure, within 10-30 minutes, the gas is completely removed through the kidneys and respiratory tract, which makes the procedure safe. At the same time, the increased work of blood vessels and cells does not stop: oxygen is actively supplied, collagen is synthesized, fat is broken down, which provides a long-lasting (up to 1 year) effect.

The patient feels a noticeable relief of pain already after the first procedure. The total number of sessions is from 3 to 10. Carboxytherapy is relevant at any age and with any type of skin, it can be performed at any time of the year.
