Rules for taking radon baths

Compliance with these simple and easy rules will significantly improve the tolerance of radon baths and enhance their therapeutic effect

  • Before taking baths, it is necessary to empty the intestines and bladder.
  • It is not recommended to take baths on an empty stomach, the interval between the procedure and eating should be at least 30 minutes. Smoking is excluded before and after the bath.
  • It is forbidden to take baths tired or sweaty, since such a condition distorts the normal reaction of the body and can even cause side effects. Accordingly, when you come to the bathroom, you should rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • Immersing yourself in the bath is necessary along the chest level, leaving the head and heart area above the water. Patients suffering from heart failure are advised to sink into water only up to the navel line.
  • During the reception of the radon bath, you should lie quietly, minor movements are periodically allowed, since the concentration of radon in the water increases.
  • The duration of the bath should be strictly determined (10-15 minutes), the water temperature is 35- 37ºC.
  • After the procedure, the patient dries the skin (without rubbing it) with a towel to preserve the radioactive plaque. Subsequently, slowly dressed, rests at least 15-20 minutes in the rest room, after returning to the room, additional rest – about 1 hours.
  • It is not recommended to combine radon baths with other loading types of treatment (for example, mud treatment) on one day.
  • On the day of the procedure, long walks, excursions should be avoided.
  • It is best to take radon baths every other day (you can take 2 days in a row with a one-day break). The course of treatment is 10-15 procedures.

Emember that a balneological reaction to taking baths may appear in the middle of the course of treatment (after 4-6 procedures. The effect of radon therapy (in most cases) will be as tangible as possible 3-4 weeks after its completion.
